I believe that ghosts and spirits could exist. Its an interesting subject. I would want to believe that there is an afterlife. Reincarnation could be possible. I would believe that all the people who have died are now in spirit form in the afterlife. There could be a lot of spirits/ghosts who have never lived in physical form in the afterlife. Edgar Cayce was really fascinating!

I've had many paranormal experiences in my lifetime. This hub gives the reader a wide variety of some of the paranormal possibilities out there. Although I wish you could have provided a different link to the Unicorn topic. And your poll question - "Do you believe shadow creatures are evil?" - should have an answer that reflects the possibility that some shadow creatures are evil and some are not evil. I've seen 2 humanoid shadow people and one of them was definitely friendly while the other leaned more toward the evil side but, I really can't say it was evil. Negative would be a more accurate word.

I believe in the afterlife because my Dad who passed in 2001 came to me and sat on my bed holding my hands telling me he was okay to live my life that he would see me again in time he would be waiting for me.I have had contact with him many times and ways!We have a ghost in our house both in shadow form and in human looking form not sure if it's my Dad or father in law as I have not seen this but my son a couple of his friends and my husband have.We had a ghost in another house that we lived in never saw it just felt it's presence always felt it was a man who lived there years before we did and one day it just stopped guess he felt we were okay and taking good care of his house for him!!I do believe in Angels because after praying one day I felt a soft light hug around my shoulders and there was no one there that I could see! What a beautiful feeling to be touched by an angel! It could be that my Dad is one of my guardian angels as I have always felt and it was him I just know I will never forget it! What a wonderful Gift!!!

Even a friends death I knew 3 day's prior to his death which happend in the same way. Is this bad

I have had several incredible paranormal experiences with my brother, Warren, who passed away in 1998. Because of his sudden, unexpected death, I was left with a broken soul and so desperately needed to see him again. The occult, etc has always fascinated me, too, but strictly on an intellectual level - I don't want to experience it or get involved in any concrete way, such as consulting mediums, etc. I am a Christian and a former scientist, but I think there is too much anecdotal evidence for the existence of the paranormal, UFO's, etc. to just ignore the subject. It must be studied to get at the truth, if possible. I have had no paranormal experiences that I know of. I do know someone (also a Christian) who is truthful who says she has seen a ghost, so she is a " believer" but the phantom wasn't anyone she ever knew, just a random apparition. Why? One question that always comes to my mind is that if ghosts are spirits of the dead, why are they clothed? Are fabrics immortal as well as souls?! And why clothes of the time they died - don't the dead have any sense of style or fashion? I am open minded on the matter, but must withhold absolute belief until there is absolute proof, which will probably be never. Regarding reincarnation, there is also a lot of anecdotal "proof," but again, nothing scientifically acceptable or completely convincing. Perhaps it is possible, but it conflicts with traditional Christian belief. Maybe some souls go to the Biblical "Paradise," while others, for whatever reason in God's inscrutable plan, reappear in new bodies. I don't know. Reincarnation raises as many questions as answers. Personally, I hope there isn't any such thing, because I wouldn't want to live again on this earth in the future, based on the direction it is headed, toward chaos, barbarism, and destruction. Heaven sounds a LOT better!

Twice in my life time I have met a person whom I believe was the Devil. This happened on two seperate occasions and with two different people. Upon meeting their eyes I knew I was looking into the eyes of pure evil. On the outside they looked like normal humans but their eyes were bottomless pits. I know this sounds crazy. Has anyone else had this type of experience?

I've had several paranormal experiences in my life so I don't think there is any doubt whether "ghosts" exist or not. There has been so much evidence just within the past few years to prove that there is something else beyond life as we know it. I have a coworker who thinks ALL spirits are evil. Lol, I don't share her viewpoint but I'm sure there are "evil" spirits just like there are evil people. "Evil in life, evil in the afterlife".

This is an interesting survey, but it may help the reader to know more about the author and goals of the survey. It is also a bit difficult to suggest that ghosts are only "souls" of the departed as there are multiple hypotheses regarding paranormal events. However, I know that polls are best simplified! Thanks for creating this -- whoever created it.

No matter how much you try to convince someone else, there will always be that shadow of doubt unless the other person has the same experience.

I believe in the paranormal ten years ago i seen a hairy creature about three foot tall standing in my hall way in my apartment i walked up on it and we stared at each other for at least 30seconds, It was about 2' wide 3'tall it's eyes where further apart than human ,its hair was every color i can think of. It looked at me with a constant stare as if it had hate in its eyes.I said out loud I am going to turn around and pray in the name of JESUS when i turn back around i want u to be gone. And when i turned around it was gone. I looked in the bedroom behind where it was standing and it was not in their. It vanished.I had one other encounter in the same apartment after that but it wasn't a visual it was a physical and it was as real as looking with my eyes.Has any body ever seen or heard any thing similar to this?I think about it all the time but never sought it out.

I am a believer in the paranormal world. I have seen things beyound beleaf. I have seen ghost,shadow people,creatures,ect...My grandma died in Nov. of 77. She came to us stood in the door way & hushed me when I wanted to tell everyone she was there. On March of 78 she stood beside me when I had my first born.I could tell you of things that sound completly bogus but honest to God they happened & are as real as we are.I have pictures that I took as proof of some of the paranormal world that canot be explained. I lived in this one house that was haunted by a man & his young son.I dream the future 3 years in advance. An I have stepped out of this world into another. Ghost, evil enitys,demons, angels yes they all exist...

I like this site and it is very interesting but I wouldn't say all spirits are evil nor are they always good. I haven't had anything very paranormal happen to me, but I believe the Devil and God or Jesus or many of God's angels are on Earth. I've never seen pure evil but I've heard and seen some very scary stuff and not just in games and movies. I also wouldn't say vampires or werewolves aren't here, but I wouldn't say they are. There are diseases where hair grows excessively in almost every part of the body. Aldo there have been cases where children had very very sharp canines and were like a blade. I'm just saying there are possibilities there are creatures that we don't knw much about.

Over the course of my life I have numerous paranormal experiences. Most of which happened in the presence of anyone who was with me at the time. I always warn new friends that anything could happen at any monent and they need to know that. Most laugh it off until it starts to happen...then they usually run for the hills, only the strong stay. I don't know why some people are more attractive to supernatural creatures, or events, than others, but it seems that once it happens to you, you become a magnet for it, if you are secure in your belief system, they seem to approach more. In a previous post, someone asked about why clothing appears in the period in which the spirit was supposed to have lived/passed, and wondered if clothing was part of that world. If you see an Angel, are they not clothed in robs, wings, etc., how about Jesus or Mary, they appear as they have been represented to us over time, in the appropriate apparell. I have to wonder if is because no time exists where they are. Once I time traveled with a friend of mine and we were dressed in that period upon arrival there. Interestingly enough, years after that experience, someone who was remotely involved in the time travel came into a room and immediately recognized me and described exactly what he saw when he first saw me! This has happened to me from past lives as well, people remember incidents that I know of and they describe them to me. Most often I will get a call and they will simply say "I know." There is just so much more going on than we realize. Maybe the souls who have evolved enough to recognize and accept these events are the ones who received the gift of knowledge that they bring. I have to wonder sometimes if I am not a guide, or maybe a warrior for some who would be fearful of the experiences if they were alone. I tell everyone to know their soul is in the light and that is the most powerful force, nothing is stronger...and that is how to address the event or the creature...know your power source.

I have had an paranormal experience. I was in my bedroom home alone and I was tired. I began to fall asleep. Not even 5 minutes into going to sleep, I heard someone yell my name directly in my ear. It scared me so badly that I thought someone was in the house with me. I did get up to look around the house and no one was there. I even looked outside to see if someone was out there but there was no one there either. It really freaked me out. I do believe in spirits and they are real. People that haven't experienced it shouldn't say they don't believe until you have actually had an experience with the super natural. I also found out that when your ears are ringing, it means that a spirit is around. I don't know how true that is but my ears seem to ring a lot since my father and grandfather died.

To me that stuff in made up but was once here thousands of years ago. The kind of vampires I do believe in is crazy crazy people and I am talking phycho people who drink human blood but yet still are humans with no fangs or stuff like that,and that they kill people for there blood those are the kind of vampires I beieve in and sorry if I am affending people but this is just what I think we all have different oppions!! lol

Hello It is Kaitlyn again. I Wrote the last comment! On the website trughosttales.com I'm sure most of you on this website has seen it. I believe that I have been in the same room as a ghost and or demon but i mostly think ghost! It is mostly when I read the stories on trueghosttales.com whenever I read the stories that the people have posted I hear noises in the room.Once I heard bells ringing yet I don't have any bells, and there are bangs and I can't be alone somewhere without getting scared, and at nighttime I hear things! It is scary but I have gotten used to it. But it is really weird and mostly when I am on the website and my phone rings sometimes i act stupid and say imagine if the phone# says 666, but that is just me being an itiot!! I just feel presance! It is Quite interesting! Also when there is a scary movie on I feel the same way! Can anyone tell me what it is? Is it something paranormal or is it just me thinking there is something there while watching something or reading something scary!

I have seen and felt ghosts. My parents live at my house and I love it. I have seen my mother hoover above me when I was sleeping one night and she was glowing! She looked like she did when she was a live. it was the most beautiful site I'd had ever seen. She said to me, "You and Don will be ok." and repeated it twice and then disappeared. The other was a shadow that I saw as I was going down the stairs and it darted from the right to the left as it went through the wall outside. I could right more but I'd write a book which I am in the process of doing!

I´ve had few paranormal exeriences yet I believe there is more than what can be perceived by our senses. Shortly after my dad passed away, I was at home and I distincly heard his footsteps outside my bedroom door and I heard his voice telling me that he had already "arrived". I almost answered to him when I realized that he had died two weeks ago after a prolongued illness that had kept him bedridden. The strange thing is that his voice sounded exactly as it had before he had been taken ill, when he´d come back from his daily walks and called to me to say he was back. Much later I realized that he had actually come back to let me know that he had "arrived" to where he had to be and was telling me that he was ok.

I'm Christian and I have always believed there are ghosts, but that they are not out to harm individuals-possibly even help them. Some may call these angels. I believe that Satan has as much control over anyone as much as they let them to. If you're heart is pure and you believe in Godliness, and don't mess around with the occult or withcraft or anything demonic-I believe you will be ok. If you keep the Lord in your heart and block out Satan and his evil ways (maybe in forms of demons or the like) then you should be fine. I have always been interested in paranormal events, exorsisms (sp) but not enough to take that seriously or to try to mess with Satan's demonic powers. I will keep praying for those who have bad experiences and just hope that who ever does have any bad paranormal events happening, that they try in their hearts to stay close with our Lord. God bless

I had many, MANY paranormal experiences as a child, that used to terrify me to NO END!!

The activity mainly centered around my bedroom & closet and I truly believe it was a poltergeist. Anyone who's ever experienced a poltergeist can tell you...it is NOT something you want hanging around!! They are extremely frightening and evil!

BUT...

There are good sides to the paranormal as well! :)

I had an experience after my father died, that some may say was "just a dream"...and maybe it was. But it comforts me to think that maybe it was something more. That maybe it was my dad's way of communicating with me from the afterlife. This is what happened:

Two nights after he died of an unexpected heart attack (which left me quite devastated) I had a dream about him...

In the dream, he appeared to just be hovering there in white "space"...no "background" or anything, just white space, and him & I. He asked me to look after his two cats (whom he loved dearly) and of course, I assured him I would...and then I asked "But daddy, what are you doing here? I thought you died?!"

He then chuckled (a sweet laugh that I can still hear in my head today :) and said with a smile "DIED?! Why I've just begun to LIVE!"

He then winked, kissed me on the forehead, and faded away in to the white space. And that's where I woke up, even though nothing had disturbed me to MAKE me wake up.

It was a very comforting dream, and it helped me (not to get OVER his death) but to deal with it better. And to accept the fact that there is indeed an afterlife. And that we'll all see our loved ones again one day.

So daddy, where ever you are right now...you can rest assured that your kitties are just fine...and so am I! :)

I have always been somewhat interested in ghosts. But have never experienced any. But before my mother passed, her and my dad would say that someone would always poke them in the middle of the night or slap my dads feet. And then my mom passed and my dad said he saw her. And he experiences smells, perfume type. And then my nieces daughter who was 6yrs old now sees my mother, for a year she has helped her with her school. Goes to school with her. And she has told us things that my mother has said that she could not possibly know. She was 3 when my mom died. And I asked her when she sees grandma, what is she wearing. She quickly says in a very knowing way, pink pajamas. That is what she died in. Also she only sees half of her. As the other half is home at grandpas in the box. She did not know about the boxes and my dads. My moms ashes. As my dad has his box also.

She is 7 yrs now and still sees her. She also sees another young girl who died in an accident. The girls tells her she is her guradian angel. She knew this girl as a 3 yr old. And now recently there seems to be some man and a young girl spirit living in the house that she is in.

She says he is tall and skinny, and mean. And my mother said she would take care of it, get rid of him. And so the other day, Her mom was home and a friend was there, and all of a sudden there was noises up stairs, and a young girl screamed. Her daughter came home from school and instantly shouted that grandma kicked him out with a broom. Now last week my brother drove by on his moped and he said some little girl was waving to him in the upstairs window. No one was home. He is spooked, he also has a tape with a voice on it in there own home, when he taped the dogs to see how they were doing when they were not home. And a voice saying lay down was on it, they think it is my dads dad. Who knows. So I guess I am a believer that my mom is still here. She is waiting for my dad, and then the will go to heaven. At least that is what she tells my neices daughter.

When I was 15 I had a precognitive dream (my first paranormal experience that I am aware of) and it really scared me. Then for the next ten years or so, life was normal for me. I married and had a family, the usual happy everyday events.

In 1986 we moved house (I still live in this same house) and over the years me and my family have experienced lots of paranormal activity, often all the family saw things happen at the same time, for example, we were all sat in the living room, I was sat nearest to the door which was half open, when a voice said "hello" and I answered hello and at the same time one of my daughters answered hello ( she was just about to walk in the room) - we each thought the other had spoken! This is just one of the small experiences we had.

Now my children have grown up and moved out there hasn't been any paranormal activity for some years, however we often talk about the various things we have experienced. I should just mention also that friends who have visited us have had experiences whilst in our house too.

I've talked with my own mother and father, aunts and uncles over the years who have had their own experience of the paranormal too.

On tv recently a watched part of a programme about quantum physics and the 'uncertainty principle' which I knew nothing about, so I did a little research on the Internet as I found it intriguing. It struck a chord with me and I wonder if perhaps quantum physics could explain paranormal activity. Completely outside my comprehension though.

Interestingly, I started reading a book my daughter bought me a couple of years ago 'the Secret'. I didn't really read it properly the first time. This time around though, I realise its linked to quantum physics and the law of attraction, which is also 'coincidental' - if you have read it then you will know what I mean.

I wish people were not as biased towards the paranormal as they are today. These things are real and DO exist. I have been dealing with paranormal things my whole life. I have seen people whose life has been ruined by ouija boards. Please, for everyone who cares about you and everyone you care about, don't open that portal to what's through that door. You never know what is going to come through, be it good or bad. There is no undoing what can be done with them.

I used to be a real skeptic, until I had my first paranormal experience in an old house I lived in. Now, I am co-founder of a local paranormal investigation group. I think for most people it is hard to believe in ghosts until they are face to face with one. Even then some people refuse to believe. I know without a doubt that ghosts exist, I don't care what any one says, I have personally captured too much evidence of their existence. And yes, you can be a Christian an believe in ghosts, I know because I am one.

Imagine yourself waking up after a nightmare about a shadowed figured trying to kill you.

Then you wake up when the blade touches your neck.

Then after that you see a MOVING shadow of the grim reaper then it jumps on your back and tries to choke you for a week. I could barely breath.

Great survey! Now the part about vampires and werewolves, let me clarify my beliefs. I don't believe they existed the way TV and movies project them, but I do believe the general concept of a vampire existed, as well as a shape-shifting werewolf concept.

I have experienced numerous paranormal encounters. When I was a small child, I vividly remember shadows (with features) coming into my bedroom at night. I remember having dreams of going over to friends' houses and seeing something happen, only to find out that I was not there when, in fact, those things happened. Only explanation, as I would figure out later in life, was OBE / AP.

In 2007, my home and my family came under attack by a dark entity(or entities) as well as being frequently visited by a ghost of a girl named Emily. After it got so bad we actually feared for the kids and our own safety, we moved out. That's when the interest in ghosthunting became a passion, and eventually a part-time career. All the time I see shadows, especially in Guelph. I visit the graveyard often, and nearby my mom's house they dug up dead bodies. Creepy huh? And I've got proof and evidence her house is haunted, I can do the same for my dad's house, but I'll do it when I'm bored.

As far as god and demons go, you can't believe in one without the other. Something to consider if you plan on going ghost hunting or using a ouija board. Be careful there are things out there no one can explain.

wow.. there certainly are a lot of gullible and ridiculous people out there... everything can be explained scientifically if you would just study the brain and how it works.. try learning something useful and using those neurons instead of hiding behind your ignorance..pick up a book for goodness sake and btw learn how to spell and write.

I certainly DO believe in paranormal activity, having grown up in a haunted house. I have also witnessed ghosts at several work sites.

The ones who claim a person is 'gullible' if they believe in ghosts are only telling the world that they have had no paranormal experiences themselves.

I would love to participate in a group ghost hunt!

While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, there is no reason to label others as gullible and ridiculous simply because they have had paranormal experiences.

And no, not EVERYTHING can be scientifically explained.

At work one night, I saw a ghost walk up the hallway and disappear into the wall.

At another workplace, there were TWO of us heard noises downstairs of a party going on... when there was none.

Can science 'explain' that? I doubt it.

Ghosts DO exist. I know because I've witnessed them.

I did not used to believe in it but on 2/11/2011, my grandpa died, im sick at the same time but i believe in it now, i think he is haunting me. 4/11/2011, im posting it at 3:50 in the morning but at 11:30-11:35 i was just about to goto bed, i went into the kitchen to get a glass of milk because my throat i had gone back into my room, just about finished the milk and went into the kitchen to put the empty glass on the bench and as i put it down i saw black mist out of the corner of my eye, i looked quickly towards it but it went behind the door as i was turning my head. this is how i can describe it, thing of a core, just something black with black mist circling around it, like a wisp from World of warcraft but just a black non-glowing core and black mist circling around it. im posting it on the same day-night. now im thinking that ghosts are real. i used to think that they were stories or rumors created to scare people but now i know they exist.

I do not have any type of story to tell but believe in many things not all of us can see. Others are qifted and in being so are misunderstood, I feel for those because others may not believe and ostrosize them because the do not know or see what they see. I say keep on, it is and can be a good thing. I advise you seek out others with the same gift and work together to save others from sorrow. Good Luck to those that really SEE.

One time, I was laying on my bed, just thinking. I was looking up at the ceiling when I thought I saw something. I instantly thought it was a man in a white suit that walked by. I don't know what it was, but I felt like something was there. I wasn't scared of it, but it freaked me out. I don't know what to believe when it comes to the paranormal, but I know I saw something.
